Never did I think I would walk so much and especially succeed for all those miles, but the thought of making a pilgrimage during this vacation time I felt in my heart. I wanted to offer something big to Jesus and Mary to show them my gratitude and as in all pilgrimages devote time to prayer, reflection, atonement and request…. So I enthusiastically welcomed my husband Serafino’s intention to undertake the Bonaria Way, which I did not even know existed. He arranged everything and I trusted him, followed him, and set out on the path, at a special and important time such as Holy Christmas. They were very beautiful and intense days that consolidated our marriage, we prayed together, addressed many topics, fantasized and even discussed, away from everything and everyone, accompanied only by the sound of footsteps, the sounds of the surrounding nature and the sight of beautiful landscapes. There was also no lack of moments of physical difficulty and fatigue, which we overcame by helping each other and also thanks to the help of the many volunteers of the Bonaria Association who will always remain in my heart. The pilgrimage was definitely a time of spiritual and personal growth, where the encounters and the discovery of the area were decisive. The days passed quickly although the last ones were very painful due to a sprained ankle that slowed down the walk and changed the day of arrival, no longer December 31 but January 1, the day dedicated to Mary Most Holy Mother of God, a coincidence? I think not, we walked with Her and for Her and She could not have chosen a better day to get us to our destination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
