I have had the privilege of walking the Bonaria Way on this ancient Island twice: the first time as a discovery, the second time as a necessity. The first time I prepared my backpack with care and attention, but along the Camino I had to lighten it because the essentials have a proper weight. A clump of cloths of different textures and colors, like the people I brought with me, identifies it. Presences, absences and even pain have been pilgrims and fellow travelers. I traveled the paths of transhumance and paths of faith and each stop was memory.
The dawn with ever new light marked the beginning of my days, the encounters gave rhythm. The Way, which in silence speaks, led me to my destination and became a companion of my daily life, leaving me with a sense of intimate well-being. In this pilgrimage I have visited prisons and communities: to seek to understand one must pause and the Bonaria Walk makes that possible. The seasons change the landscape, the sounds are new and the beauty of the places give new emotions and amazement.
