10 days of solo walking through extraordinary central Sardinia. I walked 10 of the 14 days of The Way of Bonaria, from sea to sea, from Olbia to Usellus in the province of Oristano.

From one village to another each with huge churches (relative to the size of the country). Welcomed warmly by hospitaleros. Walking through endless cork oak forests and miles of deserted provincial roads.

Endless time to think. Until there is nothing left to think about….

Just the sound of my breathing, my trekking poles and the birds.

And also the experience of the discomfort caused by an endless wind farm, replacing the sounds and animals of nature with the irritating noise of blades that produce “clean” energy but destroy nature. A part of the reality of Sardinia.

Just Walking. Sometimes losing the path…

Stop. Turn around. Continue. Finding the way again. Life!

Observe. Absorb. Freeing oneself from all the swirls of daily life.

I will come back and complete this path, of that there is no doubt.

Thanks to all the people who take care of it, the guests and the referrers who have always been very welcoming.

I enjoyed it very much. Although, of course, sometimes you suffer.

But quoting Yellowstone, “It’s called life; it hurts. So when something good happens, you have a term of comparison.”
