I have been pondering for years to walk the Camino de Santiago starting from my home in Olbia, and sooner or later… By chance I hear and read about the Camino de Bonaria, a Camino dedicated to Our Lady, not to a saint or something else purely secular, just to Our Lady, to whom my family and I are consecrated. I order the guidebook, complete and exhaustive, I find many things that intrigue and attract me. I would like to leave as soon as possible, I notify at home and to my amazement I hear from my wife that she would like to come with me, I laugh a little about it, she is not in the habit of walking, let alone doing it for two weeks in a row and for so many kilometers, however I see her convinced. When to leave? I would have done it “yesterday,” so we decide to take advantage of the Christmas vacations and set out for a different Christmas. Already from the first stage we feel the atmosphere that surrounds this Camino, created by a dense network of volunteers who care for it. In the guidebook their phone numbers are available, if contacted they are ready to support you, advise you, assist you and support you. Every day brings you landscape, archaeological and social surprises, an immense richness, The stages away from everyone and everything help the recollection and prayer, at the end in the accommodations and family hospitality you tell each other, listen and enrich yourself, your backpack is filled with experiences that enter your heart. Then comes the last day with mixed emotions, the desire to stay and admire the simulacrum of Our Lady of Bonaria and the sorrow that the journey is coming to an end, but with the awareness that life is a journey made up of memories and experiences lived and many others to be lived.
