I have concluded the Bonaria walk. I do not describe the beauty of the area or narrate episodes of even greater beauty of encounters.

Instead, I try to recount the imprint that the time of the journey filled with faces, emotions and the processing of these into feelings of affection for the people I met or relied on throughout the journey has left within me. Faces of people that remain in my memory. Faces in which a heart inhabited by the divine is reflected. Stage by stage our lives have been intertwined in a story of beauty that remains engraved in the depths of my heart and becomes a memory of it and in time I will remember it.

If the Capuchin Way walked in 2024 was the most spiritually and introspectively intense, this one in Bonaria made my heart expand and experience moments beyond the sensory experience.

My walk although ended with the last stage on Friday, May 15, I considered it concluded on Sunday, May 17 by going to meet a group of bonarinas and bonarinas accompanying girls and boys with their parents from the Filippide Association. Inside the basilica, the pastor in the closing greeting thought, referring to the commitment of those dedicated to the Bonaria Walk and the dedication of the parents of the girls and boys present said that passion is love. I would like to add that love is the middle name of “being there.” As the bonarinas and bonarinas have been there and with me throughout the walk and as I have seen the parents of the Filippide Association “being there” hand in hand with their children.
