This stage can be broken into two. Stop to sleep in Ottana and then continue to Sedilo the next day. This way you can gather your strength for subsequent challenging stages.
Today’s stage, despite its length, is not challenging. There are no elevation differences and the route is flat. You walk mostly on secondary dirt and paved roads, with no traffic. Following the arrows you will arrive in Ottana (14.7 km – 16.7 km if you do the variant). You will be able to start the stage by taking a variant that will allow you to avoid three curves along the SS 537 even though there is little traffic. Stopping in Ottana is a must, not only to refresh yourself. You’ll find food and even sleep if you want to stop to enjoy this center of culture and gastronomy. It especially deserves a stop to visit the church of San Nicola. Continuing along the edges of SP 24, with no traffic, you will come to a dirt road (27.5 km): this is the last challenging uphill section before entering Sedilo, the town of S’Ardia. At the entrance to the village you will be greeted by the Siste Viator stone and a sculpture given to the path by an artist from Sedilo.
